Intermediate Co-ed Handgun Course

6 Hours Total — 4 Hours Classroom / 2 Hours Live Fire

The Aegis Firearms Intermediate Co-ed Handgun Course is designed for shooters who already possess a working knowledge of handgun safety and basic marksmanship and are ready to advance their skills. Building upon the fundamentals taught in our Basic Handgun Course, this class focuses on improving accuracy, firearm manipulation, recoil management, efficiency, and confidence.

This comprehensive six-hour course combines four hours of classroom instruction with two hours of live-fire range training. Students will refine fundamental shooting techniques while developing more advanced skills including efficient loading and reloading, malfunction clearance, target transitions, shooting at varying distances, and improved speed without sacrificing accuracy.

• Review and application of the Universal Rules of Firearm Safety
• Refining grip, stance, sight management, and trigger control
• Recoil management and faster follow-up shots
• Improving accuracy, consistency, and shot placement
• Understanding shooting cadence and balancing speed with accuracy
• Efficient loading and unloading procedures
• Emergency and proactive reloads
• Malfunction recognition and clearance
• Target acquisition and transitions
• Shooting at varying distances
• One-handed handgun fundamentals
• Practical shooting positions
• Developing efficient handgun manipulation
• Live-fire drills designed to improve accuracy, confidence, and performance

Prerequisite:

This is not a beginner handgun course. Students should already understand basic firearm safety, handgun operation, loading and unloading, and fundamental marksmanship.

Completion of the Aegis Basic Handgun Course is recommended but not required for shooters who can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and proficiency.

• Handgun in safe, reliable working condition
• Minimum 200 rounds of factory ammunition
• Minimum two magazines; three recommended
• Eye protection
• Hearing protection
• Closed-toe shoes
• Water
• Sunscreen
• Hat (optional but recommended)

Upon Successful Completion

Students will have strengthened their handgun fundamentals while developing greater accuracy, efficiency, firearm manipulation skills, and confidence. This course provides the foundation needed to continue into more advanced handgun and defensive firearms training.
